4000 Fans is made from magazine papers and wire mesh; it represents the intensity of my personal feelings and how it can be calmed down with the feeling or sound of water. The handmade fans is inspired by shells which I have collected over the years from every beach I have visited and gives me a sense of achievement when I get myself a new one. Collecting shells is one of my ways of collecting trophies when I travel. The multicolor aspect of the fan is to embody that feelings and thoughts are never just one sided or monotone. Feelings mix and there is never a certain reason to why we think about certain situations. Words can make a whole sentence but I personally feel colors and the form of a sculpture says more.
